Evidence Required

Critical aspects for assessment and evidence required to demonstrate competency in this unit

Assessment must confirm the ability to carry out all weapon drills as listed in the Range Statement on a live antipersonnel weapon

Consistency in performance

Competency should be demonstrated on a live firing range

While it is preferable for an antipersonnel weapon operator to fire a live weapon this is not always possible because of the cost and inherent highrisk associated with the firing As a minimum the antipersonnel weapon operator must observe a live fire operation

Competency should be assessed using live ammunition on a live firing range

Note In Defence the assessment and training are conducted in accordance with the current weapons pamphlet This would include dry assessment to ensure that a safe environment is maintained
